In this video, I explore *The Bhagavad Gita*, our Hindu scripture on the occasion of Gita Jayanti and upcoming Mokshada Ekadashi that reveals the deep, timeless relevance and wisdom behind the battles we all face in life. In the context of Kurukshetra and Mahabharata. Through the divine teachings of Lord Krishna to the warrior Arjuna, I uncover powerful insights about (Dharma) duty, selflessness, and the illusion of control. Join me as I break down with Slokas how Geeta, written thousands of years ago, dated to 1/2 BCE still speaks to the inner conflicts we deal in todays time. Learn how to act without attachment, embrace your role in the universe, and find peace amidst chaos. Learn how to use Bhagavad Gita as a human manual.
Music: Mariage d'amour by Olivier Toussaint and Paul de Senneville

This verse is most often quoted verse of BG, this quoted most often but not understood clearly.
BG 2.47 => Only ¼th of this verse is quoted. karmany evadhikaras te. That we have right, Adhikar, authority to do Karma
But it has four parts and each of these parts has significance
First ¼ : We have right to do karma.
ma phaleshu kadacana
Second 1/4: we don’t have right for fruits of our karma. We should not demand the fruit.
ma karma-phala-hetur bhur,
Third ¼ : one should not think himself producer of the of the fruits.
ma te sango ‘stv akarmani
Fourth 1/4: one should not think that because I shouldn’t get the fruits so I will not do karma only.
Half hen logic - if one take BG only those section which fit into our world view and we reject those which don’t fit to our world view, then we miss out on much of what BG can offer us. BG can offer us all round elevation, understanding of our self & God and our relationship. That will come if we accept BG as it is.
Most of the people only quote this ¼ verse, karmany evadhikaras te, I have a right to do my work so actually speaking what does this verse actually talking about here? If we look at the flow of BG, essentially Lord Krishna is talking to seek the eternal don’t seek the temporary, He has not explicitly stated that but He has talked about the eternal soul in BG 2.11 to 2.30 and then He told be detach from the material BG 2.38 onwards, that is the theme from BG 2.38, Sukhe Dukhe Same Kritwa, that means you are the eternal soul and everything in material is superficial so don’t be excited about that, be equipoised in happiness and distress and then after this He has talked about the superiority of this over seeking materially good things, He is describing the way to attain eternal.
So let us look the four parts:
First is karmany evadhikaras te, ¼: we have right to do work, what it is referred to? Actually most people think that we have right to the results we don’t care whether we have right to work or not it is seen that students don’t want work but wants result that why there are last min guide and things like that they wanted to put least efforts and wanted the result. Few people think that I have right to work. BG says opposite you have right to work but do not consider that you have right to the fruit. What does it mean actually?
Work is performed in the world not only for material results but also spiritual results. How can work produce spiritual result? It depends on what kind of work it is, if one is doing its own activity not according to scripture but according to worldly standard of what is right and what is wrong, then you continue at the ordinarily worldly level but if one understands spiritual knowledge and tries to practice spiritual knowledge then one understand that I am soul and I will rise to the level of soul, so how I will rise to the level of the soul by purifying myself. What does it mean to purify myself, it mean that the soul is Sat Cid Ananda and everything which makes soul forget sac cit ananda nature in one sense impurity now those which are gross sensory or immoral pleasure they are consider to very impure form spiritual point of view these are anti-spiritual they choke and check out spiritual life. E.g. purpose of study is learning, byproduct is to perform in exam so by study not only we learn the subject but by this our mind (here ref to faculty for deep thought) grows by study…by study person develops thinking, reasoning & grasping capacity along with the understanding of the subject and all of these as a byproduct leads to acquire good marks.
Similarly we do our worldly duty with spiritual understanding of life that enables us to grow in our inner understanding, develop knowledge. When I act in detachment, by that the understanding that I am not body I am soul increases.
Nice.
The saddest thing the current time has ever done is make Hinduism a religion. It never was a religion. It’s a philosophy so wide and deep. It’s culture and way of life. And I’m proud Hindus are slowly coming to realise that ❤
It is ALSO a religion.
@@AngelAngelAngel78 The religious aspect you're referring to is actually one of the many philosophies within Hinduism, known as Bhakti, which focuses on the worship of gods and goddesses. However, Hinduism encompasses several other philosophies, such as Yoga, Advaita Vedanta, Sankhya, and more. Unfortunately, due to Islamic and Christian invasions, the Bhakti movement gained significant prominence and became the dominant face of Hinduism since the 1700s. As a result, many people today associate Hinduism solely with Bhakti and mistakenly perceive it as a cult, which is far from the truth. If you look closer, you'll find many fascinating ideas and philosophies within Hinduism.
@SomeSnake24 wdym…?
Religion became problematic when wrong people took religion and instead of teaching love and self-understanding started using it for control, power and manipulation. Religion is good or bad depending on who’s teaching it. Here is Krishna teaching what is dharma which is the purpose of religion to keep universal principles conscious, beneficial for all living beings.
so true , sanatan was a way of life , sanatan was scientific and was searching the ultimate truth of life , the truth beyond physical existence, boundary of time , but after the vedic era ended we gradually kept tarnishing it, then came puranas and all these which further contradicted the original context and teachings of sanatan, its sad. even our concept of DHARMA is not synonymous to religion.
Thank you for this reminder. Sri Krishna is always with us 🙏

One of the details that I find the most fascinating about the Gita is that Krishna tells Arjuna - If you lay down your bow, and walk away from the battlefield because you have chosen peace and have taken a vow against the slaughter of fellow man, I will let you walk away, but Arjuna the reason you want to leave is not that. Doing the right thing but for the wrong reason is a mistake that stands above other mistakes.
I've been doing this all the time. I was running from my duties , wishing to leave everyone . But from now I'll try my best to complete my duties because " doing right thing but for wrong reason is a mistake that stands above other mistakes".
can you please explain "but Arjuna the reason you want to leave is not that"
The real reason was to not be the one who kills family right?
@@misha1211 yeah that’s what I thought… Maybe I’ve got it wrong who knows
@@Xboxlove1 I believe it means that although arjuna says he'll leave the battlefield because he doesn't want to slaughter a fellow man, that he wants peace, it is not the reason he wants to step back. He wants to step back because he is emotionally attached to the people on the other side of the war, his family and his companions, and does not want to fight with them. Thus, he is using a want for peace as an excuse to step back whilst the true reason is his attachment. Thus, doing the right thing( wanting to leave the war) for the wrong reason( because he doesn't want to fight his family and friends instead of because he doesn't want to harm Anyone) is still a mistake above the other mistakes
why on earth is this video not popular
Because most people haven't suffered enough to get to this state of mind to grasp the subtle truths.
Because people are bored of bhagwat geeta
Patience
It's not too old to be viewed by masses yet
why not enjoy the video instead of worrying about its reach
I am a Christian but the knowledge inside Gita is Golden. I may not share the same faith but wisdom like this is universal ❤. Lots of love to my Hindu brothers and sisters
'Christus' in latin = 'Krishna' in sanskrit
Thank god, you grasped it, the knowledge in sanatana Dharma is not for Hindus only , it's for mankind 😊, what ever may be your religion, knowledge is knowledge, no one claim it as their own

when i first read geeta i was 13 years old, i read it because my very atheist maternal grandfather surprisingly craved for Geeta, the second time i read geeta was after my paternal grandma died, because i felt devastated, life felt low, that time i understood geeta differently, but i made it my habit to read geeta , i came back to it frequently, and i think by each read i learnt new things each time, Geeta is a journey and everyone should read this masterpiece, the greatest philosophy of all has been narrated here by Krishna, i feel pity for people who havent discovered geeta yet or those who tries to act cool by being proud of not ever reading geeta , geeta is not a religious text, geeta is a way of life and beyond, it takes us to a whole new relam of wisdom , knowledge & conciousness, i can read Biswaroop darshan chapter whole day on a loop without getting tired, thanks for the beautiful video, may krishna bless you.

It’s funny. I read this years ago and felt a deep bond with Krishna. It sent me into exploration of all avatars, ultimately feeling closest with Hanuman. I let go of most of these things over the years because I’ve become so “results based” in things that I have let fear replace my love for these stories in many ways. Yesterday- I came across something about ancestors guides and blah blah. It reminded me of dear sweet Krishna, and for the first time in a long time I prayed to a “deity” instead of doing subconscious work. Today this shows up and reminds me much of what this trip is all about. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us! I wish I had more to give you. Thank you 🫶

I've been stuck in a cycle of procrastination, doubt and severe burnout for the past 2 years. I know I have responsibilities, I know I have people who depend upon me..but for some reason, my mind just always gives in to the easier path. Stay in bed a little longer, go to bed a little later, scroll for a little bit longer, do the work that needs to be done tomorrow instead of today.
I don't know how to get out of this cycle, no matter how much I try, I fall right back in. I'll begin trying once more, though.

i am someone who feels emotions very heavily. there were times (still are) when my emotions get the best of me and i burst. it never resulted in good things. what followed was shame, guilt, self loath and resentment. it all stopped when i finally found Gita. it's strange how these spiritual texts have a way to find you. i am born hindu and we always had a gita in our house, but i never even once opened it or have even the smallest desire to read it. but suddenly, there i was, accidentally stumbling upon a narration of gita by shailendra bharti. and let me tell you smth. the way i transformed has been unreal. i no longer felt burdened by my emotions anymore. instead, i started using them to my own benefit. i have fallen down so many times, going back to old patterns but gita would always catch me. embrace me with open arms, mutter soft encouraging words and ask me politely to begin again. i cannot tell you how much this book means to me, to my religion. thank you so much lord krishna
i wish this video always exists on here . i want to come back to this every time i lose track of myself and remind myself that " light is always there to guide you . only you have to leave all fears and doubt to make that leap of faith"

Growing up my dad was and still is a big bhakt and a true believer in religion. After he would get back from the office, he would do a pooja for 30 mins, have dinner and sleep. I understood the belief part but as a kid I just would've wanted him to probably skip or even shorten pooja for a night to maybe have a conversation with me.
I could not get myself into being a believer and at 23 I am an agnostic. But I always knew that GITA had a deeper meaning. I just came across this video and I am shocked to see someone explain it in such a motivational way. This is exactly what I needed at this stage in my life.
